February 2010

Spring is close, and our schedule has blossomed. In March we have an excellent opportunity to play a Butterfly Gala for our fav charity. We'll also be donning/drinking green and throwing down with our friends in the Old City for this year's St.Patrick's Day party. Get your sick day lined up, it's going to be a long Wednesday night.

Coveralls at Barleys January 22 2010

What up CoverPeoples; 2010 is upon us. It's cold as all getout here in Knoxtown, but that hasn't kept The Coveralls out of the woodshed. We're adding fresh covers to the repertoire to get '10 going with a hotness and groove the party people. Cake? Stevie? We're in the Land of 1000 Dances, by Jovi, so Pump It Up.

October 2009

halloweezer

With great anticipation and fanfare we are proud to announce our costume for this year's Halloween show: Weezer! We will play as The Coveralls for the first set, then come back in costume and rock a Weezer set, including the Blue Album and selections from their discography since. Very excited are we, to say the very least -- hope to see you at Barley's!

September 2009

We had a great time in September playing the Cider House for the first time. Not only was Alpha Beta Productions getting more footage for The Coveralls a Go Go, photographer Carrie Thompson snapped some pretty righteous pics. We'll be posting to our Flickr feed, so check to see if you've been CoverSnapped.

August 2009

the coveralls on twitter

The Coveralls, as everyone knows, are always trying to put the people first. Many fans ask us after shows, "What wild after-party will you attend next?" or "How do you prepare for shows?" or "How do you rock so hard?" We decided it was time to let the fans in a bit more, to allow a peek into the CoverLife, one tweet at a time. Follow us on twitter and see for yourself.

July 2009

Thanks to some vigilance on the part of Chris, there will be a triumphant return of the jazz bass at the August Barley's show. The new neck has the axe sounding better than ever. We remain hopeful that this dear frankenbass will hold up a bit better.

June 2009

The Coveralls are on a bit of a summer vacation for recharge, so June and July are light months. Apologies for the calendar confusion and cancelled dates, but with lots of trips and new babies, scheduling has been a little crazy. We will be loading up for Fall, however, so watch out. We're already working on the recipe for our Halloween set, which is the perfect setup for a pun about how it's really going to be cookin'.

Drink some cold ones for us, we'll knock back a few for you.

May 2009

THANK YOU, CoverFans! We are Knoxville's best cover band for the second year in a row thanks to all of your votes. We work really hard to make it look easy, and recognition -- beyond the great show turnouts -- is a real honor.

Lately we've been working on even more additions to the song lineup while dusting off some old tunes that have fallen out of rotation. We still have a backlist of fan requests that are in the works, but feel free to add to the melange on the Request page.

April 2009

broken Squier bass

Our last show at Barley's was not without action and high adventure. It seems a bass can only withstand so much rock'n'roll before it gives of itself to the gods. Hey, it was Rage. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

March 2009

We have the distinct pleasure of playing cancer charity events from time to time, and we really enjoyed a recent Butterfly Fund black tie event hosted by the East Tennessee Fund. Aside from the money raised, a highlight of the evening was former WBIR anchor Ted Hall joining us for some classic Georgia Satellites.

January 2009

Bienvendios to the new '09. We thought we'd celebrate with a new look to an old site. 2008 was very good to The Coveralls, including an unexpected award and lots of opportunities to play for great folks. We're continually blown away by the local support and good times had at every show. We hope to learn a bunch of new tunes in the coming months, so keep the requests coming in. Cheers, Knoxville.

September 2008

SUPER THANKS to all who voted us to the top. We were all truly surprised and honored by the award. We didn't even know it existed, so the fact you the people took it upon yourselves to vote we The Coveralls means a lot. Thank you, thank you.
